AMSTERDAM — RFG KinoClub in the Netherlands has announced a special screening of “No End,” the latest film from acclaimed director Navid Nikkhah Azad, scheduled for June 2. The event will take place from 15:00 to 17:00 at Creative Center Tacheles in Amsterdam and will be followed by a Q&A session with the director, moderated by documentary filmmaker Lidija Zelovic.
In the midst of Iran’s tumultuous socio-political unrest, ‘No End’ follows Gholamali Darbari, an intrepid filmmaker whose daring exposé, ‘Forced Confession,’ sheds light on Iran’s covert coercion practices. As government authorities seize his incendiary film, Darbari refuses to be silenced.

In an article published by The Follow Up News in November 2023, it was reported that Navid Nikkhah Azad, an Iranian film director, film critic, and journalist, requested asylum in the Netherlands after producing a bold and politically charged film titled “No End” (Persian: Payan Nadarad).
“No End” is a 42-minute dark comedy that serves as a poignant critique of Iran’s oppressive regime and its leader Ali Khamenei, fervently supporting the movement ‘Woman, Life, Freedom’. Notably, this effort was undertaken without the necessary license from Iranian authorities, exposing Nikkhah Azad to potentially serious consequences.
According to RFG Magazine, before “No End”, they will screen Nikkhah Azad’s acclaimed short film “The Recess” (2021), which tells the tragic story of the self-immolated Sahar Khodayari, known as Blue Girl in Iran. Named one of the top short films of Iranian cinema in 2021-2022, it has received more than 160 international selections and earned 32 awards. After the screenings, documentary filmmaker Lidija Zelovic will have a conversation with Navid Nikkhah Azad about his work.
RFG KinoClub is a networking event organized by RFG, an organization for journalists with a refugee background. Besides RFG members with journalistic refugee backgrounds, several Dutch journalists will be in attendance for the screening of “No End”.
“No End” features Sadegh Molaei as Gholamali Darbari. The film is produced by Navid Nikkhah Azad, Mohammad Shahverdy, and Shiva Namver, and is a production of Iran and Italy.
