Tehran (NAVID AZAD) – “The Recess” by Director Navid Nikkhah Azad competes in Purbeck Film Festival (2021) in U.K.
“The Recess” by Director Navid Nikkhah Azad is shortlisted for the top prize of Purbeck Shorts Competition in the 24th Purbeck Film Festival in UK, which runs from October 22 – November 6, 2021.
“The Recess” marks its 48th international appearance in Purbeck Film Festival in UK.
Purbeck Film Festival is the longest running rural film festival in the UK.
Purbeck Shorts Competition is part of the annual Purbeck film festival in Dorset, England. The final of the competition will be hold at The Mowlem Theatre in Swanage at 7.15pm on Friday 29th October.

“The Recess” tells the story of Seventeen-year-old Sahar, who is determined to watch her favorite soccer team play for the league championship. Barred from attending sports events as a woman, Sahar disguises herself as a boy with the help of her friends. Things take a tragic turn when Sahar’s disguise is uncovered.
Inspired by true events, “The Recess” explores gender oppression in Iranian society.
