Iranian acclaimed movie, ‘The Recess’ directed by Navid Nikkhah Azad, has been honored with an special mention award at the 13th edition of the Cortos Por La Igualdad, Short Films For Equality, in Valencia, Spain.
Cortos Por La Igualdad is a short film competition for audiovisual works focusing on the discrimination of women and their struggle for effective and real equality.

‘The Recess’ tells the story of young Sahar who is determined to watch her favorite soccer team play for the league championship. Inspired by true events, ‘The Recess’ explores gender oppression in Iranian modern society.
