Tehran (NAVID AZAD) – ‘The Recess’ by Navid Nikkhah Azad has been selected to compete in Festival de Cinema Estudantil de Guaíba in Brazil.
Iranian acclaimed movie, ‘The Recess’ directed by Navid Nikkhah Azad, has been selected to compete in the 20th edition of the Festival de Cinema Estudantil de Guaíba, or RS-Mostra de curtas e longas nacionais e internacionais, in GUAíBA, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil.
Festival de Cinema Estudantil de Guaíba, Guaíba Student Film Festival, is a pioneer film festival in Brazil and is a reference in the debate and use of new technologies in the classroom, having contributed to the emergence of new talents. The festival has been taking place uninterruptedly in GUAíBA, Rio Grande do Sul of Brazil.
‘The Recess’ marks its 85th official selection at the 20th Festival de Cinema Estudantil de Guaíba in Brazil.
‘The Recess’ tells the story of young Sahar who is determined to watch her favorite soccer team play for the league championship. Inspired by true events, ‘The Recess’ explores gender oppression in Iranian modern society.
The 20th edition of the Festival de Cinema Estudantil de Guaíba, or RS-Mostra de curtas e longas nacionais e internacionais, takes place from March 18-31, 2022 in GUAíBA, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil.
