Tehran (NAVID AZAD) – ‘The Recess’ by Navid Nikkhah Azad competes in the 26th Festival La Fila de Cortometrajes in Spain.
‘The Recess’ has been selected to compete in the 26th Festival La Fila de Cortometrajes, or La Fila Short Film Festival, which takes place from April 25-30 in Valladolid, Spain.
‘The Recess’ marks its 92nd official selection at the 26th Festival La Fila de Cortometrajes in Spain.
Festival La Fila de Cortometrajes, or La Fila Short Film Festival, is a festival of short films organized each year in the month of April, in the city of Valladolid, Spain.
‘The Recess’ (‘El Recreo’) has competed in 92 international film festivals including a number of GOYA and Oscar Qualifying festivals and has won 17 awards.
‘The Recess’ brings the story of Sahar Khodayari (Iranian Blue Girl) to life.
The movie follows Sahar, a 17-year-old student who is determined to skip high school during recess to go to the football stadium to watch a football match between Esteghlal F.C. vs. Al-Ain as part of the AFC Champions League in violation of the national ban on women entering football stadiums in Iran.
The acclaimed movie has been picked for the main competition of notable international film festivals such as ‘Festival Internacioal de Cine de Lebu’ (Academy Awards Qualifying film festival), ‘Festival de Cine de Alicante’ (recognized by Goya Awards), ‘Santo Domingo Global Film Festival’ (accredited by FIAPF).
