Iranian acclaimed movie, ‘The Recess’ directed by Navid Nikkhah Azad, has been selected to compete in the 27th SPE Media Festival, originally known as SPE Women’s Film Festival, in the U.S.
“The Recess” marks its 81st international appearance at the 27th SPE Media Festival in the U.S.
‘The Recess’ tells the story of young Sahar who is determined to watch her favorite soccer team play for the league championship. Inspired by true events, ‘The Recess’ explores gender oppression in Iranian modern society.
The27th edition of the SPE Media Festival is organized in a virtual format from March 6-12, 2022.
