Iranian acclaimed movie “The Recess,” directed by Navid Nikkhah Azad, has received nomination for the Wychwood Media Social Impact Award at the 13th Watersprite Film Festival in UK. The Watersprite Film Festival was formerly known as Cambridge International Student Film Festival.
Watersprite Film Festival is the UK’s largest international student film festival, and the second largest in the world. The Watersprite festival aims to provide a creative, vibrant, and inclusive space for the filmmakers of the next generation.
“The Recess” marks its 79th international appearance at the 13th Watersprite Film Festival in UK.
“The Recess” tells the story of young Sahar who is determined to watch her favorite soccer team play for the league championship. Inspired by true events, “The Recess” explores gender oppression in Iranian modern society.
The 13th edition of the Watersprite Film Festival will announce the 2022 award winners on March 6, 2022.
